SM03: Biometrics for Physical and Logical Access Control
Room: 206 ~ 1:30PM - 2:30PM (Tuesday, March 23, 2010)
The deployment of biometric technologies for both physical and logical access control is increasing over a wide array of industries as organizations and individuals look to increase security through enhanced identification technologies. A recent SIA study, "U.S Security Market Survey" states that biometrics will be the fastest-growing physical access technology in the next couple of years. At the same time, logical biometric access control is becoming increasingly important as cyber-security assumes an ever higher profile. This presentation will provide security professionals contemplating the incorporation of biometrics into their physical and/or logical access control systems, with a solid grasp of the issues that need to be resolved before such a system can be successfully designed and deployed.
