IT04: Network Design and Implementation for IP Video Surveillance Room: 302 ~ 10:15AM - 12:15PM (Thursday, March 25, 2010)
If you're considering or are already implementing IP Video Surveillance on a converged enterprise network, you won't want to miss this valuable session. Joel King will introduce how video encoding, resolution, image quality, and frames per second influence the demands for network bandwidth and service level requirements of the LAN/WAN. Participants will learn how IP Video Surveillance (IPVS), and other forms of network based video, can be integrated into an enterprise Quality of Service (QoS) model. He'll also examine branch and campus deployment models using network segmentation techniques such as VLANS, VrF lite, Layer-2 MPLS and IPSec encryption of IPVS traffic. Additionally he'll review how network services such as Power over Ethernet (PoE), Cisco Discovery Protocol (CDP), Network Time Protocol (NTP), syslog and Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) are fundamental requirements for IPVS.
