EU03: Designing Video Surveillance Systems that Catch the Bad Guys Room: 206 ~ 2:45PM - 4:45PM (Wednesday, March 24, 2010)
Most video systems today do not effectively catch bad guys because the resultant images are blurry and/or blochy. As a result, too many customers are not satisfied with their investment, and they blame the integrator who blames the consultant who blames the manufacturer. Meanwhile, the bad guy keeps getting away. The reality is poor system performance and image quality is more often due to a lack of early and consistent communication between the end-user, integrator, and specifier, as opposed to technology failure. By using simple descriptive terminology and basic video standards that end-users, architects, and integrators can easily understand, we will develop a series of guidelines that will substantially improve system design and installation to more effectively satisfy end user requirements and budget.
