AD01: Staying on Track: Security Design for Sustainable Buildings
Room: 201 ~ 10:15AM - 11:15AM (Wednesday, March 24, 2010)
Bronze:

Sponsored By: Sileox Costar

The presentation will focus on the lack of integration of security in green building initiatives, and how security stakeholders can ensure that sustainability is not achieved at the expense of security. Rather, we will offer some simple practical solutions and experience in achieving the goals of both security and sustainability without sacrificing either.

Learning Objectives:
1. Analyze current sustainability initiatives and how they exclude security design considerations.
2. Analyze why security and sustainability design practices often conflict.
3. Understand how security and sustainability goals can both be achieved by early participation of security professionals and stakeholders in the design process.
Speaker:
Dan O'Neill - President & CEO, Applied Risk Management, LLC
Roger Rueda, PSP - Senior Technical Consultant, Applied Risk Management, LLC
AD02: How to PIV Enable Your Existing Physical Access Control System (PACS)
Room: 201 ~ 11:30AM - 12:30PM (Wednesday, March 24, 2010)

The challenge of implementing FIPS 201 access controls in a federated environment is formidable for most organizations. This session will present the results of a FIPS 201 implementation designed to demonstrate the operational feasibility of a federated PACS serving members from the Federal and CertiPath (aerospace) Bridges and supporting Personal Identity Verification (PIV), PIV-I and DoD CAC credentials.

Learning Objectives
1. Explore deployment options for achieving a FIPS 201 PACS solution.
2. Discover answers to critical implementation questions.
3. Learn about achievable performance parameters for a PIV enabled PACS.
4. Consider lessons learned from an actual deployment.

Speaker:
Bob Dulude - CSO, CoreStreet
AD03: Federal Building Security: Review of New Countermeasures Standard Released in 2009
Room: 201 ~ 2:45PM - 3:45PM (Wednesday, March 24, 2010)

In 2009, a comprehensive new Standard, Physical Security Criteria for Federal Facilities, was released that affects approximately 450,000 Federal buildings that are government-owned, leased, or managed; to be constructed or modernized; or to be purchased. This new Standard specifies countermeasures to be implemented at each facility security level and serves as the companion to the Interagency Security Committee's Facility Security Level Determinations (FSL) Standard published in 2008 that defines the criteria and process that each facility should use to determine its facility security level. In this session, participants will gain insight into the various factors affecting Facility Security Level Determinations, including agency mission criticality, symbolism, facility population, facility size, threat to tenant agencies, and intangibles, and the new countermeasures specified for the various building security levels. Use this information to prepare for and win government contracts.

Learning Objectives:
1. Discuss the connection between the 2009 countermeasures standard and the 2008 Security Level Determinations standard.
2. Identify the set of countermeasures proposed for the five security level determinations established for Federal Buildings.
AD04/CS04: High Definition Surveillance: A Clearer Picture
Room: 201 ~ 4:00PM - 5:00PM (Wednesday, March 24, 2010)

There has been much confusion in the marketplace amongst integrators and end users alike in regards to the benefits of high definition surveillance technology. In this session a panel of experts will provide a balanced view on how to better deploy and utilize HD, HDTV, HDcctv, and megapixel technologies for the benefit of the industry at large.

Learning Objectives:
1. Cite three benefits of high definition surveillance technology.
2. Compare the distinct features and capabilities of these technologies.
3. Assess the deployment of high definition surveillance technologies against customer needs.
Moderator:
Scott Goldfine - Editor-in-Chief, Security Sales & Integration
Panelist:
Todd Rockoff - Executive Director, HDcctv Alliance
Scott Schafer - Executive Vice President, Arecont Vision
Sara Scroggins - Sr. Product Marketing Manager, Pelco
